Sort of like "The Bookshelf" but for... you get the idea.

The job of a skeptic is to investigate the unexplained; not to explain the uninvestigated.

Erm - because their parents were shallow low lifers? But most probably, the question will never be asked since the children’s' upbringing will not foster inquiring minds.

This might belong elsewhere. I don’t see how a fictional character fits in this sub forum.
Question for Groening by a reporter:
“Mr. Groening, what do you say to those who still deny the Holocaust?”

Groening:
“Nothing. They are hopelessly lost.”

Hhhhhhhmmmmmm, is it possible that Carlo Mattogno is the greatest scholar the world has ever known?

Still not many babies being named Adolph.

Still, this raises an interesting question. Should parents be able to name their totally vulnerable children anything they like ?

Here in New Zealand, the most outrageous names are disallowed. It is rare to happen, but has happened, much to the benefit of the kids. For example, several people have tried to name their kids Adolph Hitler as first and second names. Not permitted.

If you want a merely dinky name, that is OK. There are a few boys called Orion for example. I know a couple, both mad keen scuba divers, who named their son Reef. But the worst names are not permitted. Do you disagree with this policy ?

We have had similar obtuse parents here too - who have been denied naming their child emperor, devil, aborted, etc. I certainly support our civil servants who prevent the worst abuses.

I hear a lot of boys were named Theon, the character from Game of Thrones who killed children and then got his dick cut off.

I'm named after a certain gunslinger. Pew pew pew pew pew pew pew!

But he only murdered people that really deserved it, and he'd given them a bunch of options.

And my mother had the hots for the actor.
