Not a fan of anime, though. I tried to watch a few, never got into it.
When my son had his barmitzvah, and his wedding, there was no family whatsoever -that’s the way the second and third generation feel the Holocaust, they miss their family. My son hasn’t experienced a family life –having uncles, aunts, grandmothers, grandfathers. There is just that hole.

Sad day for you. The Japs are just so much more creative than the Yanks. They're the artistic powerhouse of the world, at the moment. Maybe you should have another look.

Honestly, I fell asleep in all those movies, except Deadpool. I laughed my arse off. And OK, Guardians of the Galaxy. That was pretty funny and entertaining as well.

Thor had a go, but it was a lame shot and felt forced. I had a couple chuckles before I fell asleep.

I'm tired of the dark and moody superheros. They just bore the {!#%@} outta me.

Now, I listed Marvel movies, not DC. I’ve never seen Wonder Woman, haven’t had the time and I’m selective of the movies I see in the theaters. The DC movies I did see bored the {!#%@} out of me.

Damnit, maybe I need to make the list go to 10. Guardians was great.

WW is the first Marvel I've liked.

I've been off caffeine for a couple years. And she was the prettiest girl in the cinema. It's just something in the Hollywood formula makes me go to sleep. Some kind of soporific. Then I wake up at the credits with a sore bum and no memory of what happened, except a vague uneasiness that something has been taken from me that I'll never get back.

Namely the price of admission and two hours of my life.

Hhhhhmmmm, if you wake up with a sore bum and no memory I think the theater needs to be investigated. What the hell are they doing to their patrons??????

I agree. Taking someone's possessions and making them sit on an uncomfortable chair for two hours through flashing lights and loud noises is against the Geneva Convention.

I liked the 1st Hellboy but not the sequel. I hated Watchmen, wich iz a DC movie. So far the only DC moviez I'v liked are sum uv the Batmanz and Man Uv Steel.

The theaterz around here hav converted to very expensiv powered reclining seats with foot rests. They finally realized that they usually wont be able to fill all the seats they had befor, so there are about haf az many in the same spase.

I went this weekend and also loved it. The casting and performances were all top notch. I especially loved Steve Buscemi and Jason Isaacs.

It does make me want to find out the real version of what happened, too. All I really remember from my world history class in high school was that after Stalin died there was a bit of a power struggle with the Central Committee members and Khrushchev eventually came out on top.

The Soviets regularly filled a power vacuum with a troika, and then one of them killed the other two. It worked for them.

Supposedly, Russia has banned the movie.
I don't see why: from what I know about Russians, no matter how dark the humor of the flick, their humor is even darker. I doubt very much that anything in it would be shocking to anyone living under Soviet leadership.

A Quiet Place

It's good, not great. It's sci fi horror. Jim from The Office stars. The premise of the movie is that alien invaders were armored, blind, had incredibly good hearing, and had no known weaknesses. This isn't a spoiler, since you learn all of that in the first few minutes of the movie.

Spoiler:
The aliens didn't use anything that remotely resembled a language, which seemed like a weakness in the movie, to me.

Humans should have been able to build weapons to fight them long before the events of the movie. Sonic weapons, specifically. Super loud noises that would hurt humans, but really hurt the aliens. Also, shotguns were good enough to kill the aliens, so the aliens were fragile enough to kill using that. You just need a lot of guns.

Recommendation: See it if you like sci fi horror.

Ready Player One

It's ok, not great. The premise is that cyberspace dominates most people's lives. A big, naughty company with a naughty CEO/president wants to dominate cyberspace. Lots of pretty visuals. Not the greatest nor most interesting story.

Spoiler:
The villain was 100% generic. Like a Bond villain. So unfortunate.

There were fifty tons of cultural references from other movies, games, and whatnot. For example, I saw the symbol for the Kurita faction from BattleTech. In the trailer, you can clearly see the Iron Giant. Then there's the 60s Batman car, Batman, King Kong, a Gundam robot, Godzilla, the DeLorean from Back to the Future, Chucky, The Shining, the Atari 2600, etcetera.

Recommendation: See it if you feel like seeing a computer generated cartoon with occasional live-action.

I saw Ready Player One this weekend as well and was bored to death. It's over two hours of CGI nonsense in a two hour and twenty minute movie. Even the live-action scenes have a bunch of awful CGI in the background plus Simon Pegg in terrible old man makeup. It's full of nostalgic stuff for people in their late 30s, but it's clearly geared toward teenagers who don't know what any of this stuff is.

I watched a Netflix original movie called the Babysitter last night. It was entertaining as hell, watch if you like your horror mixed with comedy.

The lead actress was also very easy on the eyes.

We saw 12 Soldiers and liked it, in spite of course it being a war movie, which we usually avoid. Far better than Rotten Tomatoes suggested. Good acting, realistic action and fast moving. Kept me awake and tuned in.

Avengers Infinity War

'Twas good.

Spoiler:
I'm guessing that Dr. Strange saw that he must give the infinity stone up in order to be part of the saving of the universe. He said he saw 14,000,637 versions of possible outcomes with the war against Thanos, afterall. However, Starlord has no such excuse for his actions. He single handedly saved Thanos, and thus, is indirectly responsible for what, 50% of the deaths in the universe?

It looks like Captain Marvel will be the savior of the universe. She, or some companion or whatever, will find some way to reverse the damage done by Thanos.

I keep wondering what species is Thanos. It's never stated in any of the movies.
