they seem so consistent.

Any rational thoughts on this?

You want a rational explanation of how a single dream could be dreamth by different people.

Here's my attempt.

Have you ever arrived to an idea independently on your own? You then research if anybody else has thought of this idea of yours only to find your idea is not as unique as you thought?
Now look at the current estimated total population of the world and try to grasp how many videos would you need in your youtube repertoire of individual accounts to even average out a single oddity of a single dream occurrence. I think you'll find you are far from any possible foundation for being "awed".

Now, if you really want to grow then you'll reflect on how you were so easily awed by this single dream premise and you'll establish then how that gullible habit takes place in other parts of your life (ie; bible themes).
  God is an idea.

There are certain memes pervasive throughout society, even if you're not consciously aware of them, you probably will have encountered them at some point, and your brain absorbed it.

And even having said that, it's quite possible that some of those memes are actually hard-coded in our brains. The only way to find out would be to completely isolate a bunch of individuals from all human interaction from birth, an experiment the Board of Ethics would probably frown upon.

We could bribe the members of the Board of Ethics to look the other way while we conduct your experiment, sir!

Make it so. CC the Illuminati. We'll reconvene at Antarctic HQ. Tagged subjects are already in transit.

Yes there is Hell and it exists, really and its called Doom and the leader of Hell is this good looking demon who I cannot kill to this day:

Kamil if Hell is real then all the other stuff must be real too. That means possessions, selling your soul to the devil to grant you any wish for it and all other things connected with Christianity mythology but its not. If yes then I would be the first one to sell my soul to looks like a awesome Spider Mastermind demon with such a nice big brain. :D And believe me I truly tried with friends when I was a teenager I read all occult stuff to find a way to seek some other world forces but nothing worked - no demons no other worldly beings showed up.

I knew a bass player who claimed to have sold his soul to the devil in exchange for making him an awesome guitar player. He said after praying and going through his ritual, he passed out and woke up terrified but he was able to play guitar. He already knew how to play btw and later switched to bass because he thought he could get off on a technicality.
He wasn't that good of a musician so I think satan {!#%@} him either way.

It could be that people who dream the same dreams watch the same movies, the same TV shows, read the same books, listen to the same idiots.

Based on this theory, the members of this forum should all start having the same silly religious dreams, given the number of threads Kamil has started to discuss the exact same topic.
What are the facts? Again and again and again-what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what “the stars foretell,” avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable “verdict of history”--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? Science Fundamentalism...is exactly what happens when there’s a significant, perceived ideological threat to one’s traditions and identity.

Lance Kennedy wrote:All good advice.

I spoke to a religious guy recently. He told me I was a sinner. I agreed. But I also told him that my sins were utterly trivial. If there was a hell, no self respecting deity would bother sending me there.
If you define "sin" only as "hurting another unnecessarily," it greatly reduces your burden.

For example, most Christian sects deem sex outside of marriage as a "sin." How? When those involved have consented and no harm is done? This type of sin resembles victimless crimes, like possession of cannabis without intent to distribute. Who's the victim? There is none, therefore it's not a crime. Same with most "sins."

I'll now wait with bated breath for the Christians to claim that their all-powerful god is the victim. And I shall laugh hysterically.
