Yoda Bat is Truly Cool

Postby Bart Stewart » Sun Oct 10, 2010 2:53 am

Probably not big enough to qualify as a cryptozoo monster, the newly discovered Yoda Bat of New Guinea is nonetheless extremely cool looking.

TWO HUNDRED new species were recently discovered in the New Guinea jungles. Most are small creatures, birds and frogs. New species are pouring in from Indonesia and other rain forests (and of course the oceans) at such a rate, I am wondering if a bonafide monster may yet emerge after all. It won't be one of the long sought "superstars" of cryptozoology, but maybe an interesting new animal of some kind.

Lipstick gecko, Dracula fish, a seven-meter-tall carnivorous plant, and a frog that makes sounds like a cricket were among the 145 new animal findings in the Greater Mekong region last year, according to researchers with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Some of it is.
Some of it isn't.

Quite a bit of controversy down under about humans living with bats.
