Scientists Just Say No to ‘Chemtrails’ Conspiracy Theory

Postby Austin Harper » Tue Aug 16, 2016 1:44 am

The New York Times wrote:Scientists Just Say No to ‘Chemtrails’ Conspiracy Theory
Conspiracy theories can be stubborn, particularly in the echo chamber of the internet.

One persistent belief in some quarters is that the government — or business, perhaps — is deploying a fleet of jet aircraft to spray chemicals into the sky to control the population, food supply or other things.
...
But now, scientists have become more organized in their efforts to shoot down the idea, conducting a peer-reviewed study in Environmental Research Letters that debunks chemtrails supporters’ claims.

Ah.
That will solve the issue once and for all.
I've come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:
Spoiler:
1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that's invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

Science Fundamentalism...is exactly what happens when there’s a significant, perceived ideological threat to one’s traditions and identity.

My mind wanders, and, occasionally, I have to call Air/Sea Rescue to find it. Obviously, the mind control spray doesn't work.

Or it does work, but only in the way that a spray bottle of water controls a cat...by making it run off.

Maybe they are, but only if they're affected by mind control spray. Then they're not around anymore, so we don't know about it.

Somebody would know. Mind control spray doesn't work, at least not on most people - the population is still increasing.

I'm a genius. I have just solved two major scientific problems, while doing tax returns.

Firstly, the chemtrails aren't reducing human population. They are simply making the whole of Earth smaller and thus the human population is reducing in size. We just don't notice, because everything else is getting smaller at the same time.

....and therefore cosmic inflation is simply a myth. The universe isn't getting bigger. We are getting smaller.

Can someone nominate me for a Nobel prize? I will mention them in my acceptance speech! :D

Gawd.....here is a typical argument with a chemtrails loon...

Loon : ' Those chemtrails last for hours...ordinary contrails don't do that'
Me : ' Oh yes they do..,and here is the scientific evidence'
Loon : ' Chemtrails stop and start again in the sky....ordinary contrails don't do that'
Me : ' Oh yes they do...and here is the scientific evidence'

...wait a few hours, and repeat....the facts having gone in one ear and out the other.
100,000 lemmings can't be wrong.
