Bitcoin has always seemed like a Ponzi scheme, so implosion is very plausible, but When is the question:

It may fail, it may be fraudulent as may be defined, but its not a Ponzi Scheme.

It works like any other social construct: the agreement of its adherents..........and fails when it does not perform.

Bitcoin recently split.
It is doubtful that both wold go under - they occupy a vitale niche.
