Commercialz, good & bad

Postby JO 753 » Mon May 31, 2010 10:58 pm

I like the Kia Sorrento commercial with the kidz dollz. Great premise. Catchy tune. Excellent direction & editing.

It seemz to me the delivery companyz hav the best commercialz. UPS & FedEx like humor and their commercialz are often better than the showz they support.

I hate alot uv the communication company commercialz. Most uv them are just dull and blatantly trying to mislead, but a few are really stupid.

There wuz a haf duzen or so for AT&T that were obviously by the same add ajency and probably the same director. I pity the poor actorz in them bekuz all the characterz had identical dialog delivery and the dialog wuz KRaP. They seemed to hav sum krazy idea that at least mentioning a pony woud bring in the chumps.

Comcast haz a seriez going now with a guy who bargez into peoplez housez to tell them how great Xfinity iz. Mostly dull, but wun haz this kid in a gi (karate uniform) and the guy sez sumthing like 'careful! he haz a blak belt!' then the kid leanz forward with hiz handz next to hiz face and hiz legz strate. I believe this iz called the (tranzlated frum Japaneze) 'pleaze knock me out bekuz I've never even seen a martial arts movie, let alone taken a self defense class' stance.

Great commercial, great revenues for KIA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFHCfwF87_o&NR=1

Not sure if they made commerical with different songs, or if people put them to different songs, but this might be the original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYOX5eYc ... 1&index=48

Raccoons don't care: if there's food, they'll find a way to get it. They're good fodder for youtube videos. :)

My favourite funny ad

Radio commercialz are horrible.

I lissin to a rock station and they hav 3 general types.

1. The inuendo / double entendre / seductive female. Duznt matter wut theyre selling, strip clubz to snow plowz, its the same skanky ho and stupid scripting.

2. Man and woman bantering or arguing.

3. Self produced, or with the help uv the station. Usually they are just boring, but sum hav elements that get old by the 2nd or 3rd hearing, but they keep playing them all day every day for yearz & yearz.

There are sum that are probably made by bigger ad agenciez that are more tolerable, but they get piled under all the other krap. During peak owrz, wen they expect lissinerz to be trapped in their carz, there can be 15 commercialz in a row!

Two I can't find on-line:

1 bad:
Gatorade commercial with mutiple shots of athletes praying to God for the win or thanking God for the win. (Which part of the wanna-win-pray-won-pray cycle isn't clear.)

Do they say an "It's okay, God, we still love you" prayer when they lose?

1 good:
New "Rhapsody" commercial, with woman watching her guy dancing badly in their living room, turns to the camera and says appreciatively, "He's a very creative dancer." Glances back at him, turns back to the camera and adds, "He gives it his all." Which put a stupid, "Awwww, isn't that sweet? The power of love," smile on my face.

Geico spent more than $483MM on their advertising budget for the gecko and caveman spots in 2007. Today, Geico spends an average of $90MM a year out of that budget to purchase search engine marketing terms.

You're in good hands when it comes to spamming. Allstate has given the green light to that frog wannabe. Another English creature polluting America.

The gecko critter even made his way into Garry Trudeau's Doonesbury cartoon as government agents are trying to convince a BP executive to humanize his British accent. To something more personal and warmer, more like the gecko!

It's an English invasion. Soon we'll have to learn the price of a pint.

The Zoosk commercialz are irritatingly moronic.

Its a dating service. The women are looking at this guyz profile or wutever & the wun who woud do the date imaginez that he woud clumzily bump into her then swing her around & smash sum glassiz, then bump her hed on sumthing. So based on this baseless imagining, she changez her mind about the date!

They hav a radio commercial that haz the same theme, so I gess its going to be at least a yir uv similar idiocy.
