I hate to think about all the bad we must be doing to get us down to 21st.

Awesome! That's the kind of thing I wanted to get into when I was a teenager, but I didn't have the resources (or the technology, obviously). The eight-propeller model is like something I used to imagine while sitting in English class, pretending I couldn't follow Shakespeare because the words were too hard to understand. :heh:

Its very tedious.

I glue cut off bladez back on to the remaining part. I tried super glue orijinally (kuz I uze that stuff for EVERYTHING) but it wont do an end to end bond, Elmerz Wood Glue works.

The hard part iz matching the correct piesez - you cant just glue any cut off to any remaing blade.

I watched TED talks couple of times, and yep, I liked them. Curious videos.

It was enough to get your attention...

In his book Freeing the World to Death William Blum discusses a study of American textbooks by historian Frances Fitzgerald and says that "According to these books, the United States has been a kind of Salvation Army to the rest of the world: throughout history it has done little but dispense benefits to poor, ignorant, and diseased counties...the United States always acted in a disinterested fashion, always from the highest motives; it gave, never took."

This is the kind of catechism that we were all brainwashed with in public schools, but sorry, it ain't so, JO. Blum totally demolishes this conventional wisdom.

It seems to me quite a stretch for Simon Anholt to even put the US as high as 21st in his Good Country Index, but then I'm not thinking in terms of MacDonald's and Walmart abroad, but mostly in terms of the US Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex as a panapathogen- the root of all evil.
If one can be taught to believe absurdities, one can commit atrocities. --Voltaire
