'Murika...

Post by Nikki Nyx » Sat Jul 01, 2017 2:21 am

I feel no shame in starting this thread, because I am American. However, I am not 'Murikan. Find funny images of things and people that are uniquely 'Murikan for this thread...for the chortles. Edit: Things that are uniquely Canaduh, Asstralian, or fit the theme from other countries are appropriate too.

Here's a man blithely mowing his lawn while a tornado approaches. Apparently, he was quoted as saying, "I'm keeping an eye on it."

Anyone oblivious to whats going on around him is entitled to call themselves Murican.

Although......from the original post I do recall him saying he kept his eye on it.

And I think the original article also said perspective is everything and that thing wasn't too close by, and moving farther away as they were mowing. He probably enjoyed any stray breeze during his work...

I'm not the slimmest woman, and could probably stand to lose 15-20 pounds. But when I chance to go to Walmart, I feel like a supermodel.

The surprising thing is that they're in the sporting goods department.
The not-so-surprising thing is that they're browsing the only item in that department that relates to food.

Apparently, we can add Australia to the list... Because I've always triggered by the crosswalk light MAN. Maybe they could make them different colors, too, to include all "races." And one should be in a wheelchair. I mean, we have to ensure that no one could possibly ever be offended again, right? The madness...

Of course! So do ours. But that's a functional change in design, not unnecessary silliness that costs tax dollars for no valid reason. The tax dollars would be better spent on snowflake therapy.

Yeah, they're not everywhere. Actually, I think most places don't have them. They're common in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. Those cities have omnipresent electronic chirping, day and night.

We have nobby sections in the sidewalk to blind people can tell they're coming to a crosswalk. One my cousins asked what the blind people did after dark. Never did figure that one out.

Who's to say the old signs aren't a woman? Is it because the stick figure is wearing pants and not a skirt? Honestly, this seems more sexist.

I'm not even surprised. In her travels, my daughter has seen a guy on a riding mower to which he had attacked a shopping cart...which was filled with cases of Bud Light. I think that was Tennessee (maybe). I just saw a guy on a Hoveround tooling down the breakdown lane of one of my city's main streets. For a moment, I thought he was on a riding mower.
