Church signs

If the red house has blue shutters and the green house has red shutters, what's this section for?

Church signs

Postby Mordread » Thu Feb 08, 2007 12:42 am

Living here in the Bible belt, many of the churches will put little sayings (be they witty, poor attempt at wit, absurd, nonsensical, etc...etc...) on their roadside signs.

I know this goes on everywhere around the country, but I figured I'd see if everyone was up to making an activity out of finding the best (or the worst, as the case may be) ones that are out there. As for rules, just post a quote of the statement (verbatim, including any misspellings, or missing/added/substituted letters) and give the name of the church, state/province/country.

Two that I came across today:

Fairview Church of Christ
Tennessee
Woe! Unto them, who are brave, to drink wine!

Berean Freewill Baptist Church
Tennessee
How will you spend eternity, smoking or non-smoking? Prayer meeting tonight Thursday am

It's Hotter in HELL

1st Baptismal Church of Bagdad, FL.
I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Here are two bumper stickers I saw.

The earlier one: "Honk if you love Jesus."

The later one: If you love Jesus, tithe, Any fool can honk."

On an episode of The Simpsons: "If you were a reverend, you'd be home already"
As of late, my first and best premise is to be prepared to be wrong.
