http://www.gallup.com/poll/201158/skept ... aign=tiles

Many in U.S. Skeptical Trump Can Handle Presidential Duties

Gallup poll time!

As Donald Trump prepares to take the presidential oath on Jan. 20, less than half of Americans are confident in his ability to handle an international crisis (46%), to use military force wisely (47%) or to prevent major scandals in his administration (44%). At least seven in 10 Americans were confident in Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton in these areas before they took office.

Hooray. :?

Jeez, look at these numbers:

Confidence in Presidents-Elect to Handle Presidential Responsibilities:

Prevent major scandals in his administration
Trump 44%
Obama 74%
Bush 77%
Clinton n/a

Handle an international crisis
Trump 46%
Obama 73%
Bush 71%
Clinton 70%

Use military force wisely
Trump 47%
Obama 71%
Bush 78%
Clinton n/a

Manage the executive branch effectively
Trump 53%
Obama 84%
Bush 77%
Clinton n/a

Defend U.S. interests abroad as president
Trump 55%
Obama 75%
Bush n/a
Clinton 65%

Handle the economy effectively
Trump 59%
Obama n/a
Bush n/a
Clinton n/a

Work effectively with Congress to get things done
Trump 60%
Obama 89%
Bush 74%
Clinton n/a

Well, the good news is that public opinion has not been a very reliable factor in predicting the abilities of a president! 78% felt Bush would "Use military force wisely". 89% thought Obama would be able to "Work effectively with Congress to get things done". This poll is only about public confidence.

Does it matter that so much of the American public lacks confidence in the abilities of the incoming president?

Hmmm. I don't agree with Olbermann, but I appreciate what he's saying and I hope others hear him. And by "others" I mean the people who might have to remove Trump from office if the time comes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-fi ... incapacity

The Twenty-fifth Amendment (Amendment XXV) to the United States Constitution deals with succession to the Presidency and establishes procedures both for filling a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, as well as responding to Presidential disabilities...

...Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President....

Jeez, wouldn't THAT be a ballcracker. :?

Pretty good hate speech by that intellectual flake Olbermann.

Well, here is what we already have on Trump.
Trump is a Putin's puppet and has to be removed on grounds of treason.
Trump won because Putin's propaganda convinced Americans to vote for him. He has to be removed from office.
Now Olbermann insists that Trump has to be removed from office because he is crazy.

I think that the neo-liberal/leftist coalition of neocons and plain old imbeciles is trying to execute a bloodless coup d'Etat like the one the Brazilian oligarchs did to Dilma Rouseff. Why after all, this shining poster girl for the democracy and stuff like that Hillary tried to do in Venezuela and had done it in Honduras.

Yes, this would be a good old regime change. This time in America and by Americans. It all has already started with Clapper and company making wild unsupported by evidence accusations of Russian interference, Trump's alleged cooperation with what Olbermann called the "Russian dictator" and now the diagnosis, by some third rate psychologists and Olbermann himself (on the basis of short tweets), of severe mental problems in the newly elected president.

It has been such a short time since the elections and it has produced so much of the dangerous BS already.

And do Americans remember how not so long age Clapper stood up in Congress and told the relieved nation that NSA does not spy on Americans. Soon after, the Wikileaks came out and showed that Clapper lied to everyone. NSA actually spies on all Americans.
So much for the credibility of the man and his Russian interference report.

Well, the intelligence agencies have released their report.

The agencies said, “Putin publicly indicated a preference for President-elect Trump’s stated policy to work with Russia, and pro-Kremlin figures spoke highly about what they saw as his Russia-friendly positions on Syria and Ukraine. Putin publicly contrasted the president-elect’s approach to Russia with Secretary Clinton’s ‘aggressive rhetoric.' ”

Guess that settles it. Putin belongs in that basket of deplorables who don't like Clinton. The nerve of the man, to come right out and say it! That's enough evidence for Progressives. Anyone who doesn't love Clinton is dangerous and guilty...of something. ;)

So if Saudi Arabia openly and legally supports the Clinton Foundation, that made Hillary unelectable.
But if Russia runs a infowar campaign for Trump, that is no problem?

PREDICTION!

Trump will take 1 or more actionz that will cauze a spike in oil prisez. The prise uv gas will jump.

The purpose iz to help Putin, uv course, and the actionz will be directed by him. It'll help Russia for a wile, but it will also boost salez and development uv electric carz, wich will inevitably hurt fuel burner car salez.

This may ruin my earlier prediction that gas will not reach 3$ per gallon until after about 2030 wen it bekumz a hobby supply for classic car ownerz.

U O !
The Senate iz increasing sanctionz on Russia AND making them Prezident proof!

Jee wizz! Wy woud they think they need to make them prezident proof? Coud there hav been sumthing in thoze closed hearingz that made them think they need to take sum precautionz.

But thats not the big U O! For Trump.

The BIG wun iz that Putin iz going to see that hiz puppet iznt going to be uzeable much longer. He will haf to put sum pressure on to squeez sum more rezults out uv him wile he still can. Probably that oil thing I mentioned ubuv.

Maybe bom a mideast oil refinery? Make up a story and hit Iran? Rejigger sum Wall Street rulez? Do sumthing to hinder electric car development? Hard to chooze, kuz therez so many thingz that can trigger a crude oil prise hike.

In any case, Trump iz going to get cashed in by Putin az soon az he haz less value than the dirt Putin haz on him. It woud be a silly squanderaj to let Trump get dun in by hiz cover up, tossed in prizon and then do the big reveal.

So, U O!!!

The last 2 paragrafs in the Salon artikl:

Any major change in America-Russia bilateral relations with Trump will look particularly troubling in light of reports that there was no transcript of Trump’s first call with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin because he turned off the recording.

In other news, journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza, one of Putin’s most prominent Russian critics and part of the pro-democracy group Open Russia, suddenly died of organ failure earlier on Thursday. He had previously been poisoned and become seriously ill as a result, although it was never proved that the poisoning was deliberate. He was described as healthy prior to his unexpected death.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/po ... 37421.html

Vladimir Kara-Murza, a twice-poisoned Russian dissident, says: 'If it happens a third time, that'll be it'
In an exclusive interview with The Independent, leading Russian democracy campaigner says he has no intention of giving up the fight

If he's been poisoned a third time, I think it might look suspicious.

There's nothing in his Wikipedia article about him being dead yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_ ... Kara-Murza

And I can't find any news articles about it either.

Are we sure he's dead?

Y'know what? The Salon article is wrong. Vladimir Kara-Murza isn't dead (yet). That article was from Feb 2nd, when he was being treated for organ failure. Look, here he is in a story published on March 30, 2017, talking about I dunno something-or-other: http://www.dw.com/en/west-ignoring-puti ... a-38200249

Kara-Murza told a US Senate foreign relations budgetary committee on Wednesday that leaders of Western democracies had for too long "just ignored" Putin's actions....

...The Russian opposition politician, allied with Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead close to the Kremlin in 2015, has often been chastised by Russian state media for lobbying in the West.

He told US lawmakers Wednesday that his departure from Russia last week for treatment followed poisoning by a substance that his doctors still had not been able to identify.

"Sometimes there are near misses" in Russian political murders, "and one happens to be sitting before you," Kara-Murza told the Senate panel....

In typical US-centric fashion, the Senate doesn't realize or doesn't care how much the new sanctions are going to hurt its NATO allies in Europe.

https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles ... europe-too

or it might be an intentional ploy to force the EU to import expensive US gas.

Trump retains assets worth at least $1.4 billion, new disclosure shows
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... story.html

This is based on his own financial disclosure, which allows for a lot of variability.
Before the election, the best guess came from Forbes, which put his worth at 3x as much - obviously wrong. And of course it's waaay less than the $10 billion he claimed to have.

Funny how little comment this is getting.

1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that's invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you're thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

I think its plain incompetens by the Senatorz. They probably didnt bother to check with the state department (wuts left uv it) at all.

That's my guess also.

I agree. I am guessing that the way the disclosures are set out, makes them almost worthless for a forensic accountant to assess or form an opinion. Even if we got our paws on all his tax returns and previous year's comparatives, that isn't going to be all that informative either. You need the full financial statements for each separate company to make an opinion.

Which is why the IRS needs to be all over him and his runts too. And if inappropriate findings are identified, they need to be made public. There ought to be a law requiring IRS reviews with disclosure prior to filing to run for offices – for governors, congressmen, and presidents. Hell, I`d even add it for cabinet members once confirmed.

Trump’s Casinos Serving as a Vehicle for Illicit Financial Maneuvers, Working Hand-in-Glove with Russia

An investigation, conducted by Patribotics blog revealed that U.S. Current President Donald Trump has supposedly used his casino facilities in New Jersey and Nevada as an “umbrella” for money-laundering practices with Russian help, aiming to affect the U.S. Presidential election’s outcome.

Patribotics made shocking revelations, which are said to be based on US intelligence community information leakage. The blog was focusing on the relation between Trump and Russia till it most probably dug out the truth.

The blog reported that the Trump’s gaming entities, which were said to offer online gambling services, are in fact used as a channel for the flow of “dirty” money from Russia.

And another thing ...

Most people who happen to be union busting billionaire real estate moguls don't really care for publicity.

Remember Harry Helmsley? Sure he occasionally made the papers with some excess, such as giving his wife Leona the Empire State Building for their 50th anniversary (how sweet  ).

BTW, there's a Trump connection. He rented the whole Empire State Building and ran the business (responsible for maintenance and subletting to all others), which freed Leona to do the important stuff like deciding what color to light it up each night.

Also, Leona was a staple of the gossip columns for her rich bitch antics ("The Queen of Mean").

But the Helmsleys didn't go around trying to get publicity all the time.

Whereas Trump does whatever he can do to get max pub. He just lo-o-o-o-o-oves publicity.

Putting his name on whatever. Being a wrestling impresario. Judging that big beauty contest down in Atlantic City. Star of The Apprentice reality TV show. Being president of the United States. ;)
Scientists don't know everything, therefore my favorite flavor of stoopidz is true.
