Registration and Login Problems

Postby Pyrrho » Fri May 22, 2015 10:55 pm

If you are unable to log in, try using your screen name.

Previously we were using a separate login name and username. That was a third-party modification that is no longer active.

Switch to your username and you should be able to log in.

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

I wasted at least ten minutes working this out.

My lawyer had been informed.

The database error that was preventing throngs of new registrants has been corrected. There were some fields left over from the old installation that were causing the system to spit up a furball.

Could we have "I hate you so" button instead?

When I hit the spoiler button a minute ago the picture didn't load (I'm on my phone with 3G at the moment). Now I've reloaded the page and checked your spoiler tag again and I take it back.

Thanks for fixing that. There also seems to be a problem posting videos with the [video]/video] button. Many show as just a black rectangle.

I'm having trouble registering on some new sites. One happened to be this same problem from the PhilosophyNow site that uses the same phpBB software and layout. But I'm unable to post there as it asserts it requires moderator acceptance. It's my first attempt and I'm waiting to see a response but its already been six hours! It also times you out even when you're online and scripting a post with length.

But I've noticed that I've had many troubles being able to even register on some sites. I don't know if my ISP or country is blocking or being blocked from those sites. I don't even get email confirmation nor administration responses by these to get help. It's frustrating.
