Wow just wow (skeptical meta-discussion)

Post by Abdul Alhazred » Fri Feb 09, 2018 4:48 pm

"Wow just wow".

Anyone here ever heard it in real life?

Anyone here ever see it on the 'net, other than to make fun of the sort of people who allegedly say it?

Just asking questions. :pr:

I've heard it. The person who uttered it was, at the time, heavily influenced by a certain psychotropic substance, but he/she definitely said it. It was some time ago, though (over 40 years) and I haven't heard it since.
I should add that the same person (round about the same time) uttered the timeless phrase "{!#%@} {!#%@} me. I'm {!#%@} {!#%@} off with this {!#%@} {!#%@}" which has stayed with me over decades.
I apologise to the more delicate among us.

I have been known to use that phrase when encountering a case of unexpectedly extreme stupidity, both in physical and virtual space.

Judge me, I deserve it.

It feels like I've heard it a few times on cable news lately. Or maybe on Comedy Central. And usually in some connection with He-Who-Tweets-Wow!

I've said it with commas, but not verbatim.

One night I awoke from a dream in which I had invented the most amazing swear word ever. I excitedly wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it by morning.

When I woke up I looked at the piece of paper. It said, "{!#%@} {!#%@} {!#%@} {!#%@} {!#%@}."

I was very disappointed. Apparently you can dream really stupid things sometimes, but think they're amazing while you're dreaming them.
