I am fairly sure that I dispatched a marauding queen today – a giant hornet. Normally I encounter them in the early spring, when they are forced to forage for themselves, not yet having built up a colony. But with the recent cold, plus my efforts to decimate the workers these past months, I believe I got her while she was looking for a fast and last meal before hibernating for the winter. I say I am fairly sure since there wasn`t that much to look at after she encountered the bottom side of my boot. But if not a queen, she`d have been the largest worker I have ever seen, so either way, I am truly oiled.

I read a very clever comment by one of the Skeptics on the International Skeptics Forum.

A wooist said "The entire universe is just a simulation"
The Skeptic replied "If the entire universe is a simulation, what is it simulating?"

I never thought about that before. It was a very clever response. :D

I have approximately reached the halfway point in my annual winter Matsu trim – earlier today having completed my largest tree in 19 hours inclusive of the time spent building and taking down scaffolding. All in, 56 hours so far. Time for a sip of sake.

Found a replasement for the Cuppa-Mocha-Cappaccinno drink that I uzed to get at Dominics!

Gormet Barrista Moka Cappaccino tastes the same AND its a powder mix, so I can make it even stronger!

Dominics went under about 5 yirz ago and it wuz the only plase in the midwest that carried Lucerne products. They started carrying Lucerne dairy products at Jewel last yir and I aksed if they coud get the Cuppa-Mocha-Cappaccino, but being lame unresponsiv lamoidz, they didnt. Now its too late, kuz this iz way cheaper and better!

There's a coincidence, I was just googling Lucerne diary products to find out the nutritional value of their eggnog.

We used to have a Lucerne plant in Winnipeg that produced Lucerne ice cream, but when Sobey's bought Safeway they closed that section down. Now our Lucerne ice cream comes from Edmonton. I hate Edmonton. :beee:

Now I dont. Gord offered wut the skeptics call an 'uninformified opinionification'.

However, scrmbbld may hav just been joking around and hadnt actually tried Moka Kappaccinno with eggnog - wut the skeptics call 'lying'.

Howeverer, I consider eggnog to be a stand alone flavor, the goal being to taste az eggnoggy az possible (I usually ad an egg and nutmeg to the store bot nog) so mixing it with another flavor iz an atrosity. Likely to just be sweet with no particular flavor besidez sugar.

Yesh, as eggnoggy as possible. I like it straight also. But being of an adventurous and inquisitive nature, mixing thingens ain't unknown in these here parts. Some concoctions just ask not to be remembered (for the sheer terror of it), so an eggnoggy cuppa mocha might just have been a repressed memory making me do the things I did. :cry2:

I never liked eggnog, don`t like eggs, don`t like milk, don`t like rum or bourbon. My eggnog would need to use hard cooked eggs, cheese, and scotch or sake - all of which work just fine without a premix.

Left my Summer Solstice tree up all year. December, walked over, flicked the switch. *dusts hands*

Irish cream is what pours around this time in this family. Is it Irish cream if it's made with scotch?

Not so many years ago I always bought a bottle of Baileys by this time of year. I stopped a few years back, but still linger in front of that section... :(

You can always make your own.

My mother's secret family recipe was to skoll half the bottle of Baileys, top it up with scotch, shake it, and skoll the rest.

Yeah. I'm making plans for someone to buy me some of that for Christmas Eve. I've also got Bacardi rum and Malibu coconut flavoured crud. Dunno what kind of shooters that'll make, but it ought to be a weird evening!

(My family has never had alcohol during our traditional Christmas Eve celebrations. My parents are 86 now, though, so I figured we could sneak some past their ever-vigilant eyes this year.)
