Yeah, but this is a thread about General Bemoaning.

there's a lot of overlap between bemoaning and belaboring. Must be something to do with that "be"? Must be early Anglo Saxon for wail?

Headaches. I still remember the what I think was a MIGRAINE I had 20 years ago....like acid burning the back of my eyes. THANK GOD....it only lasted about 2 seconds. "What was THAT?" Why did it start, why did it stop?" Is this what a migraine is that some people have chronically????? I can't think so. More than a minute, and I would have cut my throat.

Pain free life. I wish it for all.

Yep........pros and cons to every position/action/idea taken or rejected. Drugs: generally still a taboo in our society. Taboos are interesting. How they are used to control other people and so forth. All mostly baseless. Kinda like religion.

The banning of effective pain-killers makes sense when you realise the world is mostly run by a cult that worships suffering and death.

Yes indeed. My first major complaint against Sister Teresa. I was really proud of myself having that recognition and then reading the same notion later from Christopher Hitchens. Just another loopy taboo/religious based control of others nonsense.

its everywhere.

Hotmail sucks.

So I've been locked out of my email account for over three weeks now. They claim they detected "suspicious activity" from it, which is nonsense. The last things I did with it were 1) recover or rest passwords to a couple of forums, and 2) block someone sending me spam in Spanish (which I cannot read).

In order to recover my account, NOT ONLY do I need to answer my "secret question", which I have done several times now, but I also have to give them a phone number! I don't HAVE a phone. I have a computer.

So, after submitting my complain and a request for help, I've been getting "helpful advice" from their customer service. Twice now they have sent me to websites to fill out an "account recovery form" -- in neither instance has any such form been in existence at those sites. The latest one let me reset the password to the email account I'm trying to recover, but did not recover the account itself.

This really sucks, because some of the websites I'm invested in are linked to that email account, and in order to change that information on those websites I have to log into my blocked email account to verify it's me trying to change said information! That means I can't add another, unblocked email address to the information on those websites.

Hotmail has trapped me in its stupidity.

Remember back in the 80s when you needed a driver's license in order to rent a movie? This is exactly the same premise: They want one thing which has nothing to do with the other thing in order to verify...what, exactly?

Anyway, I'm still in the process of switching from Hotmail to GMX. I have a gmail account, but it seems to be doing the same stupidity that Hotmail's done -- gmail also wants a phone number!

I. Do. Not. Have. A. Phone. I. Have. A. Computer!

Ours are smart-toilets, meaning that they flush, close, and open automatically. Bummer, eh? They even have a built in light that comes on in the darkness, so one doesn`t need to take the glare of the overhead light at night and possibly forget to turn it off. Scratching my head now to find a petty issue...

I got blocked out of hotmail. I used to have a simple 4 letter code: my name. Then for my safety, they kept upgrading the log in system....and Hotmail NEVER HAS FOR ME CONNECTED TO OUTLOOK. One day...they asked me my secret question and I got the answer wrong. So...what did I call my first car? Did I say "a bug eyed Sprite" or did I say "a 1959 bug eyed sprite" and is the answer case sensitive? Got my Mom's name wrong too.

I think they sent a temporary password to my second mail account and that got me back going.

Since I mostly keep apis cerana - the smaller asian bee, and since it produces so little honey, it wouldn`t work for me. They look interesting for the full time beekeeper of western bees who moves his hives every two weeks to match the migration of blooms.

Arse-smart toilets are a great idea. In Australia, I'd brand them Smartarse Dunnys(TM).

Being of European descent, I would occasionally appreciate that facility. And use less tissue. And scratching.

About the seat argument, I've had two girlfriends that were serious about it. At first I thought they were taking the piss, so to speak, but no. They were dead serious that I was being sexist by leaving the seat up.

"I have to lift it up. So why can't you put it down? You even get a gravity assist."
"This is a female house! We don't like sitting on cold porcelain in the middle of the night!!"
"Well, did you think to look if the seat was down before you sat?"
"NO! WHY SHOULD I? THIS IS A FEMALE HOUSE!"
"Well, I have to check if the seat is down... "

My solution was to close the whole lid.

Yeah. I'm single.

You don't want to live there, anyway. It's turning into a fascist state, and it's cold and rainy all the time, no beaches to speak of. That's probably why they're all so miserable all the time. Complaining poms. I don't even feel sorry for them.
