A three and a half minute audio sketch about time travellers from 2019 going back to the early 1970s:

http://www.cbc.ca/radio/popup/audio/lis ... =1.4002265

"...I just graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Do you know how much I paid? One thousand dollars!"
"Wh-what, you mean for books?"
"FOR THE WHOLE SEMESTER!"
...
"I just bought a house, here; I spent sixty thousand dollars!"
"For books?"

Awesumly brutal here in rediculously low fi, so if you like it you need to get the disk and play it on a real sound system.

Some favorite songs from each of the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees:

Pearl Jam:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=THnabGK7mPs

Yes (Though I'm not really a fan I like this song due to the fact that Jon Anderson is not the lead singer on this one):

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Hrowi4hHz8A

Joan Baez, originally sung by The Band, I like both versions:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C_ksYL26lZE

ELO:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=11A8JZ-RDDo

Journey:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jXnS7Dv07ro

Sorry, I have nothing for Tupac Shakur.

Journey is part of the soundtrack of my childhood. They are definitely not my favorite band but they have a certain nostalgic charm.

To be honest my favorite Grunge band is Alice In Chains, followed by Soundgarden and Nirvana.

The "I wish they were dead" pool / Super Groups

Postby Matthew Ellard » Mon Apr 10, 2017 12:35 am

I worked in the music industry for thirty years. My pet hate is artificially formed "super-groups". That's when the unknown bass player from Status Quo joins the one album singer from Van Halen, the detoxed drummer from Stryper and some lead guitarist, whose cat was related to Jimmy Hendrix's cat. They put on a brave face and rock like "its 1975" and put out terrible albums, with twenty minute lead breaks.

My next pet hate is multi millionaires who think they are really rock stars and attempt to jump start their music careers by hiring out of work musicians and form super-groups. Next time you go shopping at a Westfield shopping centre in London or the USA, remember you are supporting the musical crimes of the Australian owners son, David Lowy, who started this abomination of a super group. :D

They looked "out of date" as they walked act on stage for their first gig.

My next pet hate is actors who think they can act on stage like a rock star and therefore can also be rock stars. (I suffered in Australia, under the Toni Collete rock band phase and Russell Crowe rock star phase. It was awful )

An actor is a person who can, through endless practice, imitate the same pose, expression and emotion the same way for the numerous takes to get the right "take". A rock star is a drug addled person who can fall over on stage and make an idiot of himself, with no practice at all.

An actor has a paper thin ego and gets upset with every criticism. A rock star can release the worst song in the world and think to himself......"It's good enough for Rock & Roll"

So, I looked up Toni Collette.

Her band is called "The Finish." I listened to one of their songs, it sucked out loud:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B6KDZuOPDRM

Listen if you dare.

Russel Crowe is a crime against humanity.

Here is Eddie Murphy, at the height of his career, trying to suck as much cash out of said career:

He's hanging with Rick James at a point where James could actually stand up.

An album that's easily overlooked because its not under the AIC flag is 'Above' by Mad Season. It's him alright. There's much debate regarding his most saddest song but for me; it's this one.

I like diversity in bands, I also like harmonies. Alice In Chains had both.

This is a really tight rock song:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=__biilMpnmw

Grungiest of the Grunge:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Nco_kh8xJDs

Something softer:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nzn0h5r8gYU

Jerry Cantrell, the guitarist, shared lead vocals and it really extended the group's range
